April, 2006

So you think you know all there is to know about Carrabba's, mostly that it's 'all good" on the menu. Well, we started our dining selections by trying some of their traditional Italian dishes. They have taken the Best of the Best local awards for the past two years. And they deserve it. Tell them OurTown50 sent you.

It is always fun to see how they prepare your food over their grills, with seasoning and spices.

Dessert:

Love is Carrabba's Cannoli: Two crisp pastry shells stuffed with sweet ricotta and chocolate chip filling, topped with pistachios and powered sugar.

Get ready to go to heaven on earth with Carrabba's Tiramisu, lady fingers dipped in liqueur laced expresso, layered with sweetened mascarpone, Myer's Rum and chocolate shavings. Whoohoo!

Ok, who doesn't love chocolate? Go for the "Chocolate Dream", a rich fudge brownie brushed with Kahlua, crowned with chocolate mousse, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Ladies you deserve it and will love it.

Notes: Children's menu, martini list which we will cover later, full wine list, all items available to go. Carrabba's plates have their signature logo around the rim.

Appetizers:

Talk about crab cakes! Carrabba's packs them with jumbo lump crab meat, sears them in a cast iron skillet, and serves them with roasted red bell pepper sauce. Truly one of the best crab cakes around.

True seafood lovers love their calamari.
Antipasti Platter
Carrabba's style is light and tasty, a delicious combination of house favorites: Calamari, Brushette of the Day and Mozzarella Marinara.

Salad:

Carrabba's house salad with romaine, carrots, black olives and a hot pepper is sufficient so you don't fill up before your entree.

Main Courses:

Pasta Weesie: Shrimp sautéed in a garlic, lemon butter, white sine sauce with sautéed mushrooms and scallions, served over fettucccine alfredo. Topped with parmesan cheese.

Chicken Parmesan: Sautéed chicken breast coated with Italian breadcrumbs, topped with pomodoro sauce and melted mozzarella, served with garlic mashed potatoes, spaghetti pomodoro, cavatappi amatriciana or the vegetable of the day.

Mezzaluna: Delicate half moon ravioli stuffed with chicken, ricotta and spinach in a tomato cream sauce. It's simply the best ravioli you have had!

Tagliarini" Fine pasta in a sauce of crushed mushrooms, garlic, olive oil and basil. Order with shrimp or chicken. We chose shrimp, vavoom........!
